Hello,

Hope you like this web part - this is the first one I've released to the community for downloading.  Hope you like it.

Hi Mike,

Like the look of it - however is there anyway you could give me a few pointers on how to implement it?

regards,

Hi Giles,

A short user guide on implementing it is on my list of things to do.

What stage are you at?  Have you got the solution deployed and the web part visible?

Hi!

This is a good web part!
However, according to Google terms of service Google Maps API may not be used in intranet. Google Maps API Premier must be used for intranet. And it costs a lot (at least for a small company). As SharePoint is mainly used for intranet, it is a huge limitation for this web part.

Here are Google terms of service and FAQ:
 - http://code.google.com/apis/maps/terms.html (point 1.1)

Maybe I have misunderstood Google terms of service. I would be happy if so :)

Hiya,

Yes I did know that you can't use the free version of Google Maps API on an Intranet - my own company publishes all its maps on the Internet site and sends our staff there to access them.  Couple this with a growing number of companies and areas taking advantage of Sharepoint's publishing features and using it as an external Internet based site too.  They'd be in a good position to use this.

I don't want to look like I'm doing any sorts of sales pitch but I think Google Maps Enterprise works on Intranets.  http://www.google.com/enterprise/maps/  Although that's a considerable investment.
